I don't really plan on boozing today but it rhymed ;)
I have a dentist appointment today! I have to say this is probably my last appointment with this Dentist, I really need to start moving my Doctors up to the Lancaster area.
We're actually going to pick up our patio set tonight from Sears with my parents. Utilizing my dad's truck and then he's going to help Alex put in the A/C units in our house. I really hope the weather is as great on Saturday as it is today. It's warm but cool breezes and little to no humidity! But it's supposed to start raining tonight and until friday, so that might ruin it!
I'm excited to go out to dinner after all that work today. I love going out to eat! We'll probably go to Carrabas.. because my mom loves it and boycotts the one in Mechanicsburg. Their bread is fantastic there, no doubt!
Puh-Pumped! I'm not sure if we're going to put the patio set together tonight.. i'm thinking no since we'll have a lot to do. But hopefully it won't rain forever so that one night we can get to it! Although we could do it friday before the wedding. But Alex is brewing for the first time in a while on friday, so we'll see!

Oh Jillian..
It must be hard being a Bachelorette. Especially on a reality show where you're trying to find love. I swear, if I were ever on a show like that (which i can't bc i'm married) I would definitely sit down and watch all of their interviews and scenes that i'm not in before making decisions. It must be hard and really it's true that in real life you're blinded from all of that, but if you have the option, why not! Don't intentionally stay blind!
I'm talking about the current season of the Bachelorette. I watched the end of the Bachelor last season, particularly the last 3 episodes starting with the one where Jillian gets kicked off. I actually thought she was going to win the bachelor.. so Shock! on that one. So I was happy when she got a show and that's why i'm watching. However some of here choices seem off. First of all, never EVER date an up and coming 'musician'. I don't care how many songs he 'writes for you'.. he said a couple times now that he's in it for his career.. how does she not see that? Even if he doesn't have a girlfriend.. his family was the least entertaining to watch. I don't understand her connection with him. He seems like a creep to me, but hey.. i watch his interviews and all the scenes that Jillian doesn't (or didn't since it was taped past tense).
I was also upset that she didn't choose Michael. And if Kypton or Reid doesn't win.. the show will be a fluke. How could she bring Ed back like that?? So unfair! I do support her happiness it's just hard to be a viewer and watch what's going on when she's not allowed to say who she's really feeling and who she isn't.
Just thought i'd write about it.. :)

If i had a million dollars...
So.. last week I bought a millionaire raffle ticket at the local BP station. Luckily they didn't run out because usually they're a hot commodity! the drawing is this coming saturday on the 4th of july!
So since I've purchased this ticket, I have been day-dreaming about what I would do if I won the million dollars (or one of the 4). I've decided to share this, though I do realize I may be jinxing it, however but stating this, I may reverse the jinx.
So i've won, I jump up and down and scream and probably cry and then sit down in shock for a while, just staring into space. Obviously no one really wins this, except they do! You just don't hear about what they do with the money in detail, you know? Other then the horror stories on E! After that all sinks in and a month goes by before we get the check.. at which time we both leave our jobs. Over that time we're trying to figure out how to live on this for a while, if not our whole lives.. can it be that hard if we don't do anything stupid?
Check in hand, financial advisor on speed dial. My first thought is.. let's buy a car! Of course, that's the worst investment ever, however it is necessary and on our list of things to purchase when we have the money. The question is, do we pay for things in cash? Obviously a car would be something you'd want to do since you don't want interest rates eating at you.. but what about a house. I'm thinking no cash payments other then the car/s. At this point you wonder, should I give some money away to my family? Sounds like a nice idea but that can add up fast. I probably wouldn't want to talk about the money very often without my hubby or immediate families.
The next big question is where to live. I know i talked before about moving onto Alex's parents farm eventually.. but i'm currently feeling like we could do that later in life, like when our children graduate from high school or something. Maybe while our kids are growing up it would be nice to live halfway in between our parents.. especially since we're trying not to have jobs. Elizabethtown would be a perfect choice. At this point i'm not into building, we'll just buy something with a decent plot of land.
I would keep our current house and rent that out. That's a good way to gain experience in the property management field, as it may turn out to be a nice small business opportunity as time goes on.
After settling in, we'd probably have to take a nice vacation. Winning a million dollars would be a great wedding gift. I'm not sure where we'd go, probably europe. After figuring out how we can afford to live on this money through interest payments, which really shouldn't be hard due to our low cost of living currently. It would actually work to our advantage.
Then i'd need to start thinking about children. We're waiting until we have a nest egg, but since we'd already have one.. we could start asap. Especially if we don't have jobs, we'll need something to do! I mean raise children.. mind out of the gutter. The sooner we have kids, the sooner we'll get to throw birthday parties!
That's enough talk for now. If i think of more.. i'll be sure to edit this post. You may even find out next week that I have won! Oh.. dreams!

Weekends aren't long enough
If only we had 4 day weeks, every week! Last week was a 4 day week for me and this week will be as well. Having friday off makes the weekend so much better! I am more motivated to get things done with a 4 day week.
This past weekend was a good one. Friday, Alex and I went shopping for Patio furniture. At the store, we thought that the set we chose would be too big for our deck so we didn't end up buying it. We wanted to eye up the deck first to see if we thought it would fit. The good news is, it will! We also went to Home Depot and bought cabinet hardware, paint and some other misc. stuff. We put the cabinet hardware on later that evening after having dinner at Saigon. The hardware looks great! It really gives the cabinets a nice facelift! I then watched the bachelorette (can't believe it's a 2 hr long show) and every week i want Wes to get kicked off, or one of the guys to tell Jillian that he's a d-bag, but this never happens!
Saturday, Alex and I slept in until 11:30! Crazy! We must've been way tired and still catching up from Jet Lag. We did some house cleaning/organizing and then eventually I got ready for Sara's wedding in Philadelphia. The wedding was at 6 pm at the Philly Public Library. It was gorgeous! They had the reception on the roof!! Everything looked so amazing, I love weddings! I will have pictures on my Picasa later tonight so you can see it! And Sara's dress was so beautiful.. I loved that too. She looked stunning! We had a good time, the food was fab and we even got to do a little dancing! Great time! We got home around 2 am (since philly is about 1.5 hrs away) and went directly to bed!
Sunday, we slept in again! til almost 12! haha.. good sleeps though. That's when I began painting the living room/stairwell/upstairs hallway. First I cut in all the trim with my handy tool that rolls along the trim so you don't have to tape. It worked really well. Then I rolled everything. What I found out later is that my handy tool didn't put the paint on as thick as rolling so i'll have to go around and touch that up a bit. And finish the stairwell which I couldn't reach the top of! Alex made us some chicken on the grill which was yummy and he also re-arranged the living room furniture. We spent the night watching television. My feet were hurting pretty bad.
Today, my legs are sore from all the up and down of the painting, but it was worth it because it looks awesome! It's nuts what a paint color change can do for a room!
I'm looking forward to this week because I'll get to do some relaxing and start the thank you notes. Friday is our friends Matt & Brittney's wedding.. which is going to be great!! And then Saturday we're having a 4th of July picnic! I love making food for picnics!
Happy 4 day week before the 4th! :)

Shop til you...
I don't really enjoy the "shop til you drop" quote.. i know shopping can be tiring but people don't just drop. Odd. Today i'm going to "shop til i stop" which makes more sense.. obviously if you're not shopping anymore, you've stopped! cute, huh?
I guess the fact that no one reads this blog doesn't stop me from asking questions that will never be answered. Like this one, should we or should we not get a Flat Screen TV? We've been trying to figure this out for months.. and since we don't have one yet, it's obviously been tough to answer. But what I can't figure out is, are we still thinking about it because we want one? But if we've been thinking about it this long and do want one, why haven't we just gotten it already? Here are the pros and cons:
Pros:
Sweet TV, Better picture quality, larger, etc.
Cons:
I'll have to have DirecTV come out and install a new saucer and then pay more per month for HD channels.
This is off subject of what i was originally blogging about.. shopping. We're going shopping tonight! I love shopping! We're planning to purchase a patio set (for our upcoming July 4th Picnic) maybe a bookcase since Alex wants one really badly. Some miscellaneous stuff like a recipe card box, wrapping paper tote, desk fans, etc. and i'm hoping we can hit Home Depot to pick a new paint color for the living room. White is just not doing it for me. Maybe we'll decide to get some dinner as well.. guess we'll see about that.
Then i'm planning on moving the bedroom furniture around so that we can put in the air conditioner. I'm really digging the current layout but the bed is in front of the windows which just won't work.
It's really nice to be home after our honeymoon, we've been pretty busy this week and we really need to start the thank you notes but it's nice to be back.. watching all the shows i recorded while we were gone. We should totally be on that "Here come the Newlyweds" game.. we'd kick it!
Happy Friday!

Will there be games at this Carnival?
So i've decided to participate in a blog carnival.. and though the post i'm posting is not very interesting, it's my third post ever on blogger so give me a break! :)
This post is a part of 20SB’s Looking Back Blog Carnival, and Ben & Jerry’s is awarding free ice cream to lucky bloggers and readers!
Here it is:
rain, rain go away
Happy Cinco de Mayo! If only it were nice and warm outside instead of raining for the 3rd or 4th day straight. I hear there's going to be at least another few days of rain.. what the heck? It's not April anymore, May is supposed to be about flowers! I know rain is necessary and all for life to exist.. but i'd really prefer that it rain maybe once a week and all the other days be perfect. I should really just move to San Diego where they think 90 degrees with no humidity is hot. I was there last May and on the news they were saying, "It's going to be a blazer out there today, 90 degrees" Their advice was to stay indoors in the A/C to avoid overheating. These people are spoiled! (this is jealousy talking).. they don't know what humidity feels like. It makes 90 degrees feel like 105! Luckily, we don't really approach that much in PA which is nice but humidity is a sweaty killer.
OKAY! That is enough complaining about weather! Let's talk food. I'm currently munching on Celery and Hummus. I used to really dislike hummus due to the fact that I don't really enjoy chickpeas.. they're basically tasteless! However with hummus, there's garlic and cumin and tahini that make it taste more like peanut butter. The only difference between hummus and peanut butter is that it's super healthy with little fat (okay that's not the only difference but the main one). Therefore I suggest hummus as a healthy snack. I just had maybe 8 celery sticks with hummus and i'm stuffed! I'll have to wait to eat lunch i'm so un-hungry. Speaking of lunch, last night Alex sauteed some of his dad's organic asparagus with garlic and olive oil.. seriously, anything with garlic and olive oil is like heaven! I should start taking pictures of these things for illustrations, a blog with no pictures = no fun. I'll work on that.
Tonight i'm going to drink a margarita in front of a space heater to really celebrate cinco de mayo! And to keep warm of course!
So that was pretty long.. i have a habit of writing long posts! :) i'll probably be posting a regular post later so stay tuned :)

jet lag is a jerk!
So i don't know this for sure, but since i'm SO tired.. i think i might be suffering from jet lag. I'm really not surprised due to the fact that Hawaii was 6 hours behind the east coast.. that's 1/4th of a day! So when I wake up early for work at 7:30.. it's really 1:30 am to my body! Add that to the fact that when I go to sleep i'm not all that tired.. but I go to sleep anyway and the quality is poor! I toss and turn and i'm hot and cold and it's basically miserable.. no wonder i haven't recovered from the time difference yet! I think i might pop some nyquil tonight to get a quality sleep.
Update: I just ate some Cheetos.. and I feel better. Maybe i had low blood sugar? Speaking of sugar, why isn't it spelled "shugar?" that makes more phonetic sense!
